A decentralized networked media system places DSP at all of the endpoints, rather than routing all signals through a single point, so there is no single point of potential system failure. That means if any device fails, the system will continue to function normally, which is vital in times of emergency. In a hybrid system, we can override DSP equipment in enclosed spaces like classrooms and conference rooms to broadcast critical pages during emergency situations.
